I am always in search of the next big thing to hit the gaming industry so that I can appease my insatiable appetite for all things video games. Currently Counter-Strike, Dance Dance Revolution, Kingdom Hearts, and WarCraft III are pleasing my senses on an almost daily basis. Recently I learned that Final Fantasy XI (a series that I adore) was going to hold a beta test for PC/PS2 gamers in North America. My heart almost skipped a beat when I realized that (a) it was going to come out for the PC and (b) that I might be accepted into the beta test. Sadly though, my heart did skip a beat and an awful feeling of nausea came over me when I saw this message:
The application period has now ended.
Apparently I missed it by a week or so. Some great source weblog is. On the upside though, I wouldn't have been as lucky to be accepted. S'much like the Frozen Throne Beta that I wasn't accepted to.
Regardless of the beta, this year is going to be pretty big for games. Frozen Throne is out in July, Half-Life II in September, Doom III in October, Final Fantasy X-2 in November, World of WarCraft (maybe 2004), and Final Fantasy XI (maybe 2004). If I've forgotten something, kindly comment so. |
