I'm almost a month back from my 4th sailing trip. It was the longest one yet -- we were on the boat for a total of 5 nights and 5 days. We sailed 'June Bug' (a 36' Hunter) out of Deltaville, VA and made a ton of stops (Reedville, Solomons Island, Crisfield, Tangier, and Onancock) and had a great time overall. I would rank the trip 2nd best (my first time still being my favorite). A few of the days were a wash, but what really made the trip was the final day... it was a total ass-kicker with 25 knot winds and 4 foot waves. I was feeling a little sick during it and probably whined for some relief, but that didn't stop my enjoyment.

My brother sent me this story about Abby Sunderland being lost at sea while trying to circumnavigate the globe in a sailboat by herself. I spent at least 2 hours reading that article, related ones, going through Abby's blog, watching her YouTube channel, reading Wikipedia, etc, etc. It's just... so awesome. I literally can't find the words to describe how amazing it is and must be. I would attempt to sail around the world in a heartbeat, although probably not solo, because I'm generally retarded when it comes to survival. But wow... what an experience. The youngest person ever to solo around the world by themselves, non-stop, and unassisted is Jessica Watson. It's a shame about Abby... I think she was trying to break Jessica's record, but had some auto-pilot trouble, which killed the whole "unassisted" thing for her, and now this. I gather she's going to have to stop though, her boat seems pretty wrecked at this point.
